Good And Local

Originally the site of a grocery and pharmacy dating back to the 1950s, a declining retail center located in central Vancouver, WA on Mill Plain Boulevard needed vision and a fresh look to bring it back to prominence. With a name that pays respect to its Northwest roots, The Mill has been transformed into a vibrant destination that not only serves the immediate neighborhood but has attracted regional recognition for several locally-owned restaurants who are setting a new standard for Vancouver’s food scene.

After acquiring the site formerly known as Garrison Square, we knew that it needed much more than just a fresh coat of paint to create the thriving retail hub that we envisioned. We worked to reimagine the site, integrating architecturally interesting details, redesigned lighting and high quality materials on the exterior facade to create unique retail experiences. We then sought to collect an interesting mix of businesses that would not only continue to provide needed services to the area by day, but could draw in visitors after hours. Parkrose Hardware and Planet Fitness anchor The Mill’s daytime activity, while newcomers to Vancouver’s dining scene including buzz-generating Rally Pizza, Smokehouse Provisions and Ben’s Bottle Shop create a lively scene after 5 o’clock.
